What medications would you like to know about?
Customer:
Cisapride and Kristalose-which you said can be given together.
Drugdad :
for cisapride, give 15 minutes before meals and at bedtime.
Drugdad :
For kristalose, may be given on an empty stomach for more rapid results

So if I give the kristalose in a litte bit of food (for my cat) on an empty stomach and then she eats her breakfast 20 or 30 minutes later would that bring fast results? Or should her stomach remain empty for awhile after I give her the Kristalose and if so, how long?
Drugdad :
That should be Okay, but to induce rapid bowel movement ,on empty stomach till bowel movement occurs should be better. If kristalose is given everyday then this does not apply

Yes. She gets it every day. So how long after I give it to her in the morning should I expect results? How long before it takes effect?
Drugdad :
For initial dose, response may take 24—48 hours

And after the first dose, if I give her every morning, how many hours before it works each day?
Drugdad :
Kristalose most of the time does not work right away, so it may not produce bowel movement right away but the goal should be to have a regular bowel movements of 2 to 3 per day
Customer:
Well, I have been giving her Lactulose at night after meals, and just started giving switching her to Kristalose in the morning on an empty stomach. Should I expect to see more frequent bowel movements from this change?

Yes, it should make a difference especially if the cat is moving around during the day time
