It seems as though your doctor is prescribing you ciprofloxacin for an upper respiratory tract infection. This is a common use for cipro. Cipro, assuming you have good kidney function, should be taken twice a day, preferably 12 hours apart. It is important that you do not have diary products 6 hours before or 2 hours after taking cipro as this may cause a decrease in efficacy.
