Unfortunately, over the counter medications do no go through the same type of effectiveness testing that prescription products do. This allows pharmacists to identify which prescription products can be interchanged with their generic counterpart and have similar efficacy. With over the counter medications like naproxen, that information is not available. So unfortunately, it becomes a game of trying to find which ones work for you.
I will suggest however, that you try Aleve. The active ingredient in that is naproxen. Each tablet only contains 200mg, so you will need to take more to get to a dose similar to the one you were taking previously.

VerifiedHi, I agree with the previous pharmacist. There is not any information out there on generic manufacturers that are comparable to each other.
However, I do have a couple of suggestions!
Have you tried Teva manufactured naproxen? This is a manufacturer that is widely used as Sandoz, and my pharmacy had naproxen in Teva for years. We did recently switch to Glenmark, but I show the Teva still available. If you have a pharmacy that is willing to order this particular brand for you, I would try it.
Second, Sandoz does still make the delayed release naproxen (delayed release meaning that it is not released until it reaches the GI tract for absorption). It will have the same effect. The only problem is that it is newer and more expensive. It is still generic, however, so if you have insurance, it will hopefully be the same copay.
