Thank you for your question. The expiration date on a medication is when less than 90% of efficacy is still available. What happens after that expiration date cannot be determined. Either, it's effectiveness will decrease gradually or suddenly. It is never recommended to take a medication after the expiration date as we know there is decreased efficacy, but could also be other unknown effects due to it being expired.
