Both dramamine and meclizine are pregnancy category B. This means that animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women OR animal studies have shown an adverse effect, but adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus in any trimester.
We typically say that a pregnancy category A or B drug is safe, but once you get to category C or higher, we don't necessarily recommend medications (unless the benefit is greater than the risk). So in this case, I would say it is okay to take either up to the recommended dose.
