I would definitely let your body get adjusted to this new medication and interval. As for yesterday, were there any other triggers to cause the jump? (i.e.: stress, pain, etc...). Did you feel anything abnormal when your pressure was this high?
I would recommend avoiding clonidine if you are not taking it regularly as it can cause rebound hypertension (increase your blood pressure if not taken regularly). Also, continue to monitor your BP as you are doing. If you get another jump as you did yesterday, I would recommend that you move the medications to 12 hrs apart - take one in the morning and one in the evening. If this does not work, your doctor may need to increase the doses of the medications. It is recommended to maximize doses prior to adding on other medications like clonidine.
