Sectral is a type of medication called a beta-blocker. Zebeta is also a beta-blocker as well. The difference between Sectral and Zebeta is that Sectral exhibits what we call intrinsic sympathomimetic activity. In short, this reduces your likelihood of a low heart rate, aka bradycardia, as compared to other beta blockers.
Beta-blockers are commonly used together with calcium channel blockers like Norvasc for the treatment of high blood pressure.
As for when to take your medication, it is usually best to stagger your high blood pressure medications and not take them at the same time, as this may cause an unsafe drop in blood pressure or heart rate. I would recommend you continue to take the Norvasc as you were already doing so, and the Sectral at the same time you were taking the Zebeta. If you were taking the Zebeta and Norvasc at the same time, then I would recommend that you change the timing of the Sectral to a few hours after you have have taken the Norvasc.
