VerifiedClonzepam is in a class of medications called benzodiazepines, otherwise known as anxiolytic/anti-anxiety medications. These medications can calm one down by enhancing GABA receptors causing less stimulation to the central nervous system. This does not mask cardiovascular conditions, such as high blood pressure. Hypothetically, if a person is anxious and takes clonzepam, there MAY be a drop in pulse rate or blood pressure, but it is a transient effect. This effect will vary per patient.
