On my Peugeot, airbag fault light comes on. Car wont start

Customer Question

The airbag fault light cones on and won't let me start the car.
I have a Peugeot 307 - 2005 model.
I have tried turning off the passenger airbag using the key slot near the hand brake. I recently had the clutch changed and the mechanic said the battery was weak.

If you have an airbag light on then by far the best route is to plug in a scan tool that is capable of reading body codes as this will then point to the fault.
As the car won't start its very likely the airbag control unit may be intervening as its set to stop the engine starting if it thinks the airbag has been deployed and this can only be reset with a factory scan tool.
