My gerbil had a scent gland tumor removed today. Is there

Customer Question

My gerbil had a scent gland tumor removed today. Is there anything I should or should not do to prevent him from tearing out his stitches? Also, is it ok that I put him back with his brother? What can I do to prevent an infection of his surgical area?
JA: I'm sorry to hear that. There are all sorts of infestations your gerbil can pick up. I'll have you talk to the veterinarian who'll sort out what is wrong and help you decide what to do about it. What is the gerbil's name and age?
Customer: His name is ***** ***** 1.5 years old.
JA: Is there anything else the veterinarian should be aware of about Micky?
Customer: No, he's been perfectly healthy. A bit stressed from his surgery today though.

1) Can you share a picture of the suture area?
2) Is be bothering it at this time?
3) Were any antibiotics given injectably or orally at home?
