Ferrets do not commonly carry anything that humans can catch. It is possible for them to contract a few things, very rarely, I suppose. Any mammal can carry salmonella in the GI tract, or ringworm on their skin. However, I have never seen a ferret with any condition contagious to humans, and it would be very rare to see such a thing. The only thing I can think of is that they can carry roundworms, so they should be dewormed twice a year with pyrantel pamoate, or revolution.
Best Wishes,
