Hello and welcome. My name is ***** ***** I’m a biologist with over 20 years of experience keeping reptiles. I’m sorry to hear about Pontoon’s problem. Some additional information may help determine the best steps for you to take.
What brand of UVB light do you have?
How often do you give him a calcium supplement?
What temperatures do you maintain under the basking light and on the cool side of the cage?
Hello again. It appears you went offline without seeing my request for more information. I’m going to go ahead and answer as best I can without knowing those things. Lethargy is often caused by temperatures that are not quite high enough. For a baby dragon, the area under the basking light should be 105*F to 115*F. The coolest part of the cage should be 85*F to 90*F. If you need to increase the temperatures, you can do so by lowering the light fixture (but not so low that your beardie could be burned by it), using a higher wattage bulb, or adding a second fixture.
Make sure your UVB light is on for 12 to 14 hours per day, and that it has a 10% output. I recommend the Reptisun 10.0.
If all conditions are good, and Pontoon is still lethargic, it will be best to schedule a vet visit. This site has a directory of reptile vets:
It’s possible he has a respiratory infection or other illness. The vet will be able to diagnose and treat it. I hope Pontoon will soon be fine.
