Customer: Bearded dragon clogged pores
JA: I'll do all I can to help. Can you tell me a little more about the Bearded Dragon's situation? How long has this been a concern?
Customer: We only noticed them getting big last week so last night I looked out up so we tried to soak him and they moved up a little but they won't come out yet. I'm scared to try to force them out.
JA: What type of food does he normally eat?
Customer: Meal worms, wax worms crickets and some veggies and fruit depending on his mood
JA: And what's the Bearded Dragon's name and age?
Customer: And blue horned worms if we can find them. His name is ***** *****'s around 5 years old
JA: Is there anything else the Vet should know about Buddy?
Customer: No I just want to know if I should bring him somewhere or just keep soaking him. I don't want to hurt him and I don't want him to get sick. I feel bad I never even knew about these pores it's never been an issue. And he gets baths every week so I don't know what is causing them ether Customer: Chat is completed

Hi, I'm Dr. Hannon. I'm happy to assist you. Can you upload a picture of the affected areas? If it's truly the femoral pores, when beardies reach sexual maturity they will enlarge and produce a hard keratin that the dragon uses to help stay gripped to the female during copulation. If you are referring to his hemipenes, then I would be more concerned about impaction, hemipenal plugs, or abscess formation. I have uploaded a good article on bearded dragon care for you. I'll may be able to give you more information after I see a picture of it.

Customer
Thank you I am out I will take a picture when I get home. I soaked him again and a few of them fell out they are like hard pellets almost clear and waxy.

You're welcome
