Hi, JACustomer. I have been a Veterinary Nurse for over 15 years and I'm happy to help. Please stand by while I have a chance to type.
Are you able to share pictures of her at this time with something for size reference (like a hand)?
What foods are you feeding her?
How long have you had her?
What vitamins and mineral supplements are you using, if any? How is it provided? How often?
Thanks so much. She's likely a few months old, at most. She's very small but she's larger than a hatchling. She will grow to be a few inches in length at adulthood.
Unfortunately, Pangea diets and other commercial companies like Repashy often cause metabolic problems in geckos. I've worked with crested geckos since they entered the market in the late 1990s and this has been a known and chronic problem since the early 2000s when the aforementioned companies came out with their food lines for crested geckos. As such, I recommend a 1:1 mix of calcium powder to multivitamin powder used daily. This should be dusted on all food items before feeding. These are the ones I use and recommend:
The spasming you're seeing sounds far too similar to metabolic bone disease in crested geckos, so I would begin adding supplements to her food immediately. You can also give the commercial food and also give her insects that are powdered just before feeding. If these symptoms persist or worsen, I would strongly recommend a vet visit. You can find a reptile vet by searching http://www.anapsid.org/vets/ and also http://www.arav.org. If you live in the USA and need help securing funding for a visit, I can assist. There's a very good chance if you start supplementation now that the symptoms may resolve entirely.
