Customer: I think my bearded dragon has a prolapsed cloaca.
JA: I'll do all I can to help. How long has the Bearded Dragon had this prolapse?
Customer: One day
JA: What type of food does the Bearded Dragon normally eat?
Customer: There are no exotics vets available in my area until Monday. She eats crickets, dandelion greens, bok choy, earthworms, and I try to give her a different kind of fruit a couple times a week.
JA: What's the Bearded Dragon's name?
Customer: ***** *****.
JA: Is there anything else the Vet should know?
Customer: She laid a clutch of eggs two days ago, and the day prior to that she managed to eat a caterpillar in the garden before I could stop her.

My name is ***** ***** I am a Vet Tech with over 40 years in PReptile health.

Have you done anything to tear it?

Do you have a pic of the area?

I have not done anything to tear it. She was struggling to lay her clutch so I put her in a warm bath but have otherwise left it alone. I'll take a photo now.

Did she ginish laying her clutch?

As far as I can tell, yes. She laid around 20 eggs.

She will need to see the Vet for the prolapse. Rightnow ir is amll and if not cared for can get mush woese. I am houng to give steps to r do some first aid to try to shrink the tussyes.

Clean area with sterile salune

Maje a sugar paste by placing suagr on a paper towel and wer with coo water to make a thick paste.

Apply the sygar kn the paper twel to the prolapse and hild as long as pissoble

When removed clean again with the saline

Apply some Mineral oil to the area to keep moist

See a Herp Vet as soon as pissible

Hopefully the sugar patch will help trhe tissue shrink and go back into the Vent area.

How is yngr dtzgon doung? Was my ingo helpfull?
