Joan, My turtle is at least a year and a half. It was raised
My turtle is at least a year and a half. It was raised by a friend who has been successfully raising turtles for years. He has been in a 5 gallons tank with a filter, heater, and UVB light. He was healthy and vigorous. about two months ago he was moved to the outside 50 gal. pond. The pond has existed with 8 regular goldfish that have grown and prospered for a year with no losses. The turtle was healthy and vibrant with a good appetite for the Reptomin food until 2 days ago. We have been feeding him twice a day and he has gobbled it all up. Now he is on his basking rock and is very listless. Normally, he would jump off the rock if he was approached. He doesn't do that now. He is approximately 3 and a half inches. We are in the San Antonio, Texas area and the air temperature is quite warm. … read more

I must tell you I found this site by accident and was amazed when I asked a question of the Veteranians online. I wish I could have found it sooner it could have made such a difference in the outcome of my pet's surgery. However, I am passing along the information to my sister-in-law (a cat-rescue person who is also a nurse), and perhaps it will help someone else who may experience the same problem. The doctor who answered my question was amazing, and while it didn't come it time to change the outcome of my situation, it is reassuring to know the caliber of Vets/Doctors that you have at JustAnswer. Thank you for being there.
