I have a year old boa constrictor and I've been feeding her

Customer Question

I have a year old boa constrictor and I've been feeding her 2 large mice every week but I just fed her today 2 mice but still seems hungry should i feed her another mouse? She's still a little to small for small rat

My name is ***** ***** I have been a Vet Tech for 30+ years with special interest in Reptiles and Reptile Rescue. I would not feed her any more. Boas are always good and aggressive feeders and will look like they are hungry, but over feeding can shorten the life span as well as it can cause reguritation. I would check into small rats and see if you can find some the appropriate size. Rats are more nutritious than most other feeders, so if you can find some for her you would be better served. You can feed one food item every 5-7 days on schedule.
