Diarrhea, vomiting, salivation, depression, weakness, and seizures can be seen after ingestion of this plant. Ripe fruit (berries) are most toxic but also bark, leaves, and flowers. (https://www.aspca.org/pet-care/animal-poison-control/toxic-and-non-toxic-plants/chinaberry-tree) There's no specific antidote and so Tater would be treated symptomatically and supportively by his vet. I would be patient with a lazy and inappetent dog but address gastrointestinal distress (if it arose) with antimotility drugs and an antacid. Seizures (unlikely) are treated with an anticonvulsant drug. Inducing emesis isn't appropriate as Tater is already symptomatic. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.

My wife said he is now eating and is more playful than this morning

Excellent! Apparently one berry for a dog of his size isn't worrisome. Thank you for the good update. I can't set a follow-up in this venue so please return to our conversation - even after rating - with an update at your convenience. You can bookmark this page for ease of return.
