Hi JaCustomer,

Welcome to Just Answer. My name is Jane. I have been involved professionally with dogs in the healthcare and behavioral fields for over 20 years. I’ve worked as a Vet Assistant and Behaviorist and have extensive experience in dog reproduction, as a breeder, for even longer than that.. Canine behavioral issues and training are also my specialties. It will be my pleasure to work with you today.

Often antibiotics will cause a bit of stomach upset and/or diarrhea. Even if they do not cause diarrhea, the feces do tend to move faster through the gastrointestinal tract which can lead to green stool which may be a little more as you put it grainy since the food is moving quicker. In addition antibiotics often destroy good bacteria in the stomach that helps break down food as well. Antibiotics kill bacteria and often do not distinguish between good and bad. One thing you can do is add a probiotic to her food to add more good bacteria to her system. Continue for a week or so after the antibiotics are discontinued. You can get probiotics online, in pet stores and from your vet. They should help a great deal.

Is it normal to still have a little blood?

Often blood in the stool indicates parasites such as worms, coccidia or giardia or irritation in the bowels. Diarrhea can lead to irritation so a little fresh blood shouldn't be much concern.

Now if she is bleeding somewhere else, let me know where?

It’s been very light. Hasn’t had a bloody diarrhea since we were at the vet yesterday morning. The green diarrhea is what I was more worried about since it’s been 24 hours and wasn’t sure if that was normal. They didn’t really tell me what to expect except a little more bloody stools yesterday

She is also on dewormer. She has no vomiting and still wants to play. She eats a little but still picky

The green is normal and should clear up as soon as the stool is moving through her system at a more normal rate.
