Hello! My name is ***** ***** it will be my pleasure to help you with your dog today. Just like an in person consult, I have some questions of my own to help ensure I give you the best advice possible....

Did Molly seem confused or dazed during this episode?

Is she currently on any medications?

Does she have a head tilt at all?

Is she willing to eat, or will she only drink?

Is there anything i can put in her water to ensure shes not dehydrated?

Thanks for the additional information. I really appreciate it.

It sounds to me like she may have suffered a seizure.

Dogs actually have two types...grand mal seizures...where the whole body is involved and the dog often defecates/urinates during the episode...and petit mal (also known as focal seizures) which only have an impact on one part of the body. From your description I feel like it may have been the second type.

Since new onset seizures can be caused by many things, from organ disease to issues with the brain, the absolute best thing to do is to have her seen by a vet as soon as possible. I understand that you may not have access to an emergency vet today, so as long as she remains stable, you could likely wait until your vet opens on Monday...however, if she doesn't start eating by this evening, or if she's had another episode, then you should have her seen by an emergency vet today...just to be safe.

As for the dehydration...I don't think I'd be too worried about that right now. It often takes a day or two to become dehydrated, and since she is still drinking a bit, I woudln't be concerned.

I hope this helps.
