Veterinarian's Assistant: I'll do all I can to help. The Expert will know if the dog will be able to digest that. What is the dog's name?

Pistol

Veterinarian's Assistant: Is there anything else important you think the Veterinarian should know about Pistol?

I don’t know of anything he is “very active” and although he is a working dog I am raising as a House dog.

Thank you I will be patient.

Not to worry. I might dose a 26 lb dog with as much as 10 mg of loratadine. Adverse effects aren't well-documented in small animals but an increased heart rate and vomiting might be seen. I suspect that Pistol will remain unaffected, however. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.

It has been about a half hour and he is acting fine same routine just laid down beside me to go to sleep I am fine without a phone call.

Thank you. I haven't seen problems with loratidine in my patients. There's no need to induce emesis or treat in any manner. Please continue our conversation if you wish.

Just to confirm: I don’t need to anything? He may throw up and may not. How will i know if he has an increased heartbeat. He is sound asleep as he always is st this time.

You needn't do anything. Vomiting and increased heart rate are more common with overdoses but he wasn't overdosed.
