Has Tramp been fed anything new over the past few days? Or, have you switched his dog food flavor or brand?

He did get into the trash can yesterday and ate some beef grease and far trimmings.
Dog Specialist: Chelsea Schwarb,
 replied 6 months ago

Okay that is very likely the cause of his diarrhea today. The grease and fat has caused him to have GI inflammation (gastroenteritis) which is very common and has a great prognosis. Please feed him only a bland diet for the next 3 days. A bland diet consists of boiled chicken breast with the skin removed mixed 50:50 with cooked white rice. Make sure he has free access to fresh water as diarrhea can cause dehydration. If his diarrhea is improved by day 4, then you can slowly start adding back in his regular dog food over an additional 3 days. No treats, table scraps, rawhides/bones for the next week so his stomach can settle.
