How long ago did Koda eat this pound of milk chocolate? What specific candy was it?

Also, how much does Koda weigh as that is very important to know.

LRge chocolate coin about 1 pound and it was old. A re-gifted white elphant gift of 8 years
Dog Specialist: Dr. Bruce, Veterinarian replied 8 months ago

Ok. So it was solid milk chocolate correct? 8 year old chocolate, that couldn't have been the best tasting. How much does he weigh?

I’m actually on the phone with my son, giving info back and forth, his dog is acting fine, running around but hasn’t vomited yet, it’s been about 7 minutes
Dog Specialist: Dr. Bruce, Veterinarian replied 8 months ago

Thanks for that information. Can you give me an estimate for his weight?

45 pounds. I guess he only gave him 1 tblspoon
Dog Specialist: Dr. Bruce, Veterinarian replied 8 months ago

When using hydrogen peroxide to induce vomiting, 3% hydrogen peroxide is used. It is dosed at around 1 teaspoon per 10 pounds. So a 45 pound dog could get 5 teaspoons orally mixed with a little milk to help it go down. It can be redosed in 10 minutes if no vomiting is seen - only one time. 1 pound of milk chocolate for a 45 pound dog is a very serious dose. This is a situation where I would recommend inducing vomiting to see how much chocolate comes out. Then I would at my ER give him some activated charcoal and some anti-cause medication. I might consider hospitalizing on IV fluids for 24 hours if he didn't bring up a significant amount.
