Hello, My name is Candy

I have been a veterinary nurse for 30 years. I would be happy to help
Can you tell me what medication this was and how long ago you think she may have ingested this?

This is not a drug that is commonly used in dogs and this is a high dose that could result in some serious side effects. This drug is quickly absorbed and toxicity effects can be seen from 30 min to 2 hours after ingestion.

It is recommended to induce vomiting with this drug if no symptoms are present, however since it has been almost an hour inducing vomiting may not be effective.

Some of the more common problems we can see are seizures, weakness, stumbling, vomiting, shaking and hypothermia. I am going to send you a link that covers this in more detail

http://www.merckvetmanual.com/toxicology/toxicities-from-human-drugs/muscle-relaxants-toxicity

I always try to offer at home treatment when ever I feel it is safe, however I am concerned that your dog could have life threatening complications if she did ingest this medication.

I would suggest giving your regular vet a call and see if they want Cheche to come in for observation. Since you are not sure if this was ingested or not being observed at the vets would be best. This is relatively inexpensive and she will be there to get immediate treatment if side effects develop.

I know no one comes here to have someone say call your vet but I would hate to advise you otherwise and risk the life of your dog.

Please reply back if you have additional questions and I will be happy to continue.
