I'm sorry that your question wasn't answered in a timely manner and I'm sorry to hear of this with Dempsey. The most worrisome part of the history you posted is that he's wall-staring which is an indication of a change in mentation (mental status) in dogs. In elderly boxers brain tumor is the most common cause of a change in mentation. Dempsey's vet will want to perform a thorough physical and neurologic exam because while brain tumor is most common there are also extracranial (outside the skull) causes of a change in mentation such as a poorly functioning liver or kidneys intoxicating his brain.

An elderly boxer is likely to be stiff and sore due to geriatric osteoarthritis which can be addressed with neutraceuticals (e.g., fish oil, glucosamine/chondroiton sulfate) and nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) but his mental status is the most important consideration at this time. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
