This happened about 7 hours ago. He is licking his front paws. I gave him a mixture of water and milk and he drank that.

Those chemical burns are treated with potent opiate analgesics such as oral buprenorphine and a systemic antibiotic in an attempt to control infection in the wounds. If tissue necrosis (death) arises, Ripley's vet will need to debride (remove devitalized tissue) surgically. It's important that his vet attend to Ripley at your earliest convenience to have the tongue examined and those drugs prescribed.
