Customer Question
I think my dog...

I think my dog ate a multivitamin gummy which has 400iu of vitamin D. From what I am reading vitamin D can be harmful to dogs. She’s about 4lbs. She has an inverted sneeze and it’s happening more frequently and she also urinated in my bed which has never happened before. She is 15 years old.

Veterinarian's Assistant: I'm sorry to hear that. The Expert will know if your dog will be able to digest that. What is the dog's name?

Cleveland

Veterinarian's Assistant: Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about Cleveland?

No... nothing that I can think of

I am sorry to hear you are worried about Cleveland. I just came online and saw your question; I am sorry you have been waiting for a Just Answer expert.

Vitamin D in high amounts can make dogs sick, but 400 IU in a 4 pound dog is a safe dose. Dogs have to eat dozens if not hundreds of vitamin pills to get too much vitamin D.

Inverted sneezing is not a sign of serious illness in dogs; it just means that something in their nose is irritating them and they are trying to clear it out.

Urinating in your bed can be a sign of a UTI, urinary infection. I would have a urinalysis done to check for one.

If she does not have a UTI, she may have "urinary incontinence". This is seen in older spayed female dogs, and there is medication that can help

Please let me know if this is helpful and what other questions I can answer.
