Customer Question
My 6 month old...

My 6 month old puppy vomited a tiny amount once but is very unsteady on his legs. He is wobbly and tired. My husband took him to the vet but he didn’t know what’s wrong. All his vitals are good. His gums are pink and he doesn’t have eye movement for vestibular disease.

Veterinarian's Assistant: I'm sorry to hear that. This sounds like it might be serious. I'll let the Veterinarian know what's going on ASAP. Is there anything else important you think the Veterinarian should know about the puppy?

That’s it. He was fine and then he wasn’t

Did they perform any diagnostics such as bloodwork or a parvo test?

Have there been any changes to the diet? New food, including a change of flavors or protein source within the same brand? New treats? Bones? Has any human food been fed? Torn up toys or trash? Stressful changes to the environment?

What breed is your companion?

The vet did not recommend blood tests or X-rays at this point. He’s a 6 month old pug, fully vaccinated.

Can you share a video of the wobbliness you're seeing?

How long has this been a concern?

Does the vomiting appear to be linked to the wobbliness? That is, did they start about the same time?

I have larengitis so I can’t really talk on the phone. I guess I will just take him to a different vet tomorrow if he hasn’t improved. My biggest fear is pug encephalitis.
