Can you tell me the name brand of this supplement?

Has Bree vomited at all?

Is she on any medications/supplements?

aor Ortho Adapt. Bree vomited last night around 11 pm after eating them around 8 or 9? Vomited a small amount as well overnight. I think she may have eaten between 6 and 16 capsules (200 mg each). In the vomitus I also found a large sparerib that she must have gotten during the evening walk.
Dog Specialist: Lisa, Certified Vet Tech replied 8 months ago

Great. Thanks for the additional information. I really appreciate it.

The good thing about these supplements is that as a general rule, they're incredibly safe. The body usually will take what it needs and flush the rest out of the system in the urine. The safety margin is huge, so I'm not terribly worried about that.

The bigger concern would have been about the sparerib...since these can cause intestinal obstructions if they don't make it through the digestive tract. Luckily, Bree vomited it up, so at this point, if this were my dog, I'd keep an eye on her for the next couple days. If she does more vomiting, or if she's been attempting to defecate with no success, or if she stops eating, then you should have your vet take a peek...just to make sure that she didn't get a second sparerib.

But I expect her to be just fine.

I hope this helps.

Ok thank you very much. Do you think there could be a sedative effect from the supplements. Bree does seem slightly subdued today although she was tail up during our morning walk and she still has an appetite.
Dog Specialist: Lisa, Certified Vet Tech replied 8 months ago

It's unlikely. My guess is that she's sleepy due to the vomiting and/or the nausea.
