Hello and thank you for using this site to help you. I am sorry that your question was not picked up sooner.

Coughing can be a symptom of many ailments and not all of them serious.

Coughing like there is something stuck in the throat can be from a reverse sneeze or a collapsed trachea

A dry cough can mean there is a heart problem or kennel cough.

A collapsed trachea , dry coughing would mean your Vet should be contacted.

A reverse sneeze , which sounds bad, happens in many dogs and is thought to be allergy related.
