The benzodiazepines such as as alprazolam (Xanax) are well-tolerated by dogs. I might dose an 8 lb dog with up to 0.025 mg per pound or 0.2 mg. 0.25 mg is not a significant overdose. You might see sedation and ataxia ("drunken sailor") but she should remain safe. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
