Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear about your two sickies... Was Brody coughing before your child got sick?

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
No he wasn't

Got it, thanks.

Most of the respiratory diseases of dogs cannot be shared between dogs and humans (i.e. humans can't make dogs sick and vice versa). RSV cannot be transmitted to dogs; parainfluenza virus is generally species specific, which means that it generally cannot be transmitted either. So, while still possible, it's very unlikely that Brody caught something from your child. A coughing 8yr old dog could be/become just as sick depending on what's causing the illness, so I would definitely see your vet within next day or two to have Brody evaluated and let them know what your child had been diagnosed with so that they have that information.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions or need clarification on the above information. Best of luck with both of them, hope they're feeling better soon!

Great. If the cough is not subsiding within 3-4 days, have him looked at. Please remember to rate my answer if you've found it helpful and, again, best of luck!
