Great. THanks for the additional information. I really appreciate it.

At this point, all we can really do is adopt a watch and wait plan.

If we're going to see any issues with this kind of ingestion we'll see things like attempting to vomit or defecate without success, vomiting immediately after eating or drinking anything, lethargy, anorexia or painful or swollen abdomen. If you see any of these signs, then you should have Diablo seen by a vet immediately as these are signs of a serious problem called intestinal obstruction.

I would also make a point to watch him when he goes out to defecate for the next 7-10 days to see if the duck makes it's way out. Once you see the duck, then you're out of the woods.

I hope this helps.

I can see he bulge in his neck where it is
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
However, he is breathing and drinking water

Can feel the duck when. Rubbing the area
Expert:  Lisa replied 10 months ago.

If you can see it in his throat, then you should absolutely, positively have him seen by an emergency vet tonight so they can remove it before it causes a problem with his breathing.

If you're not sure where an emergency vet might be in your area, you can go to: http://www.vetlocator.com and plug in your zip code. They'll point you in the direction of the one nearest to you.

At the emergency vet, they'll sedate him and remove the duck.
