My 3 month old puppy started throwing up and then started

Customer Question

My 3 month old puppy started throwing up and then started running into the walls and can barley walk,
JA: I'm sorry to hear that. This sounds like it might be serious. I'll let the Veterinarian know what's going on ASAP. Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about the dog?
Customer: She just had her 10 month vaccination yesterday and was full of energy this morning.

I'm sorry to hear of this with your puppy. Such a sudden change in mentation (mental status) suggests intoxication with a prescription or recreational drug or seizure activity (complex partial seizure; previously called petit mal and now also called psychomotor seizure). Please clarify her age. You mentioned 3 month old puppy but also a 10 month vaccination.

I'm sorry, it was a 10 week vaccination.

Thank you. Our primary concerns when seizure activity arises at such an early age are the infections caused by the canine distemper virus and a coccidia called Neospora. Neither are likely, however, if your puppy went from running around this morning to vomiting, running into walls, and barely walking (ataxia/"drunken sailor"?). Instead, a vaccine reaction or seizure disorder needs to be considered. How is she doing at this time and how long has it been since she began to be symptomatic in that manner?
