She has a scab in the back of her neck i tried cleaning it and now it looks worse. What can I put on it?

Hi, this is Dr. Hill. Sometimes cleaning a scabbed are will make it look more inflamed, but you did the right thing. You can put some neosporin on the scab. I recommend a warm compress twice daily to aid in healing. Avoid using anything like hydrogen peroxide as this can inhibit wound healing over time. Make sure that Maddie is not able to scratch the area and keep it open. If it is not improving in 3-4 days then she should be seen by your local veterinarian and started on antibiotics.
