Get Your Dog Care Questions Answered by Experts
Hello. Thanks for the question.
Klonopin (Clonazepam) is a very safe medication, even when ingested in fairly decent amounts. In a 100 lb dog, it would take quite a bit to cause problems. The most I would expect with a handful of tablets would be sedation. That should resolve on it's own over 8-12 hours.
In some dogs, we see a paradoxical reaction where they actually get hyper and agitated. If the signs are bad, I would go to a vet and get some Flumazenil- this is a reversal agent for these valium type drugs. I doubt it'll be necessary.
I hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions.
