My pit (1 1/2 yr old) was t on s left front side by the mail

Customer Question

My pit bull (1 1/2 yr old) was hit on his left front side by the mail man's truck. He seems a little banged up and is limping slightly. His breathing is normal, his pupils are equal and respond to light and he isn't wimpering. His gums look normal as well. Should I take him to the vet or keep watching for any signs of internal injuries.

Hello Carlene, I'm Dr. Deb and will do my best to help you today.

I'm sorry that your Pittie was hit by a truck although it sounds as if it could have been a lot worse!

I do have a few additional questions to ask about him first if you don't mind:

1. How long ago was he hit?

2. Did you see it happen?

3. Was he ever unconscious?

4. How much does he weigh?

There may be a slight delay after I receive your answers since I have to type up a response to you. Thanks for your patience. Deb
