Customer Question

My dog takes zyrtec twice a day. Today he is acting strange, anxious, very dilated pupils, not eating (not even his favorite teeats, it's as if he can't smell them), not drinking much.
JA: I'm sorry to hear that. What is the dog's name and age?
Customer: Is it possible he was given zyrtec D instead and this is psuedoephedrine poisoning ?
JA: Did you see what your dog ate?
Customer: No, I was out for Mother's day brunch and m6 husband gave him his meds....I take zyrtec D every 12 hours, I'm wondering if my husband gave him the wrong one
JA: Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about your dog?
Customer: No, he just had a physical, immunization updates, his blood work was all perfect as was his urine analysis and fecal. He's a 75.5 pound pit mix
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Veterinarian about your situation and then connect you two.

Hello and thank you for your question. I am a Veterinary Nurse with over 15 years experience and I have assisted in the care of many pets with this particular medical concern. It would be my pleasure to assist you today. Is it possible for me to obtain some additional information from you about your companion?1) When was his most recent dosage of the medication today? 2) Any vomiting or diarrhea?
