He has three large califlower like growths on his shin. Vet

Customer Question

He has three large califlower like growths on his shin. Vet said the only way to get rid of them is surgery, but he's 13 yr old and the surgery may be too much for him. The growths often weep and have blood and fluids leaking. I wipe them off and have used hydrogen peroxide to clean them. They seem to be getting bigger. He's listless at times and I wonder if he's uncomfortable. He still eating and doesn't appear to be in pain when I clean them.
JA: IÂ’m sorry to hear that. This sounds like it might be serious. I'll let the Veterinarian know what's going on ASAP. Is there anything else important you think the Veterinarian should know about the dog?
Customer: He's a 13 year old German Shorthair. I have used antibiotics for him to treat them when they look like there's an infection.
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Veterinarian about your situation and then connect you two.

Hello and thank you for your question. It appears that the Expert you were hoping to speak with is not currently available. I have stepped in to assist you in their absence so that you have a prompt reply to your question. If you would rather wait for the Expert you had originally contacted, just let me know. Otherwise, I’ll be happy to assist you today. Is it possible for me to obtain some additional information from you about your companion?1) Do you have a picture to share of the growths? 2) How long have they been there? 3) Is your boy in good or poor health otherwise? 4) Any reason to believe anything in particular would cause him to be unable to make it through surgery?
