My dog has been vomiting -4 days. She has eaten small

Customer Question

My dog has been vomiting for 3-4 days. She has eaten small amounts but brings it up after 4-8 hours. She is drinking water. She is doing #1 and #2. She is 10 years old. I'm guessing she might have eaten a dead rat. Thank you for your suggestions.
JA: I'm sorry to hear that. The Veterinarian will know if your dog will be able to digest that. What is the dog's name?

Remember there is no limit on how many questions you can ask to in order to clarify any information I have provided regarding your pet. I just have a few initial questions to ask to gather some more information if you don’t mind? Does she only vomit when she eats? Is she on any medications? Is she acting lethargic at all?

What are you feeding her? With her age I would be concerned about a number of things. I would first be concerned if she has any underlying medical conditions such as kidney disease, liver disease among other things. I would suggest that you check some bloodwork on her to rule those things out. Also anytime a dog vomits I also recommend x-rays to rule out any abnormalities within the abdomen

You can always write me later as well I get an email when you have more time Because I have to ask several questions to get a good idea of what is going on

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
She is normally very healthy
No medcal conditionsThinking she ate a rat or mouse ?

Okay - good bye

I have had conversations with people on her for a couple of days in some cases depending on how complicated the case is. Even if she at a mouse or a rat I would suspect that she should have diarrhea as well

If she had bloodwork to rule out any other medical conditions then I would recommend x-rays to rule out anything else
