Customer Question

Hello. I have a 225 Lb mastiff that possibly injested tramadol. He has dry mouth, is drinking lots of water and is restless and panting. Not himself at all. Is there anything I can do to help prior to taking him to pet Er? Thanks
JA: Thanks. Can you give me any more details about your issue?
Customer: He is on tramadol for his joint pain, per our vet he is to take 3 pills a day with food. Not sure as to what happened with him today, but upon returning from work. He is restless, panting, will not eat, and is drinking excessively. From doing some research, most of these factors revert back to possible overdose.
JA: OK got it. Last thing — Dog Specialists generally expect a deposit of about $19 to help with your type of question (you only pay if satisfied). Now I'm going to take you to a page to place a secure deposit with JustAnswer. Don't worry, this chat is saved. After that, we will finish helping you.

Hello & welcome, I am Dr. B, a licensed veterinarian and I would like to help you with your wee one today.

Do you think he has more then his usual dose?

How much? How long ago?

Any retching, gagging, lip licking or vomiting?

Are his gums pink or pale/white? Moist or sticky?

If you press on his belly, does he have any discomfort, tenderness, or tensing?

Could he have eaten something he should not have (ie bones, toys, plants, chemicals, etc)?
