Customer Question

This morning my 13 yr old shitzu starting dragging one of her rear legs. It appears that he is not wanting to bend it and does not have any pain when touched. He is not acting unusual and it appears that he may not have feeling in it. What do you think this could be? Thanks!

Hello & welcome, I am Dr. B, a licensed veterinarian and I would like to help you with your wee one today.

Does the leg feel colder then his front legs?

Since we have some concerns about his ability to feel the foot, can you pinch a toe on this foot to see if he looks at you or reacts like he can feel it?

Any history of trauma, health issues (ie heart, arthritis, etc), or is he on any medications?
