Customer Question

Our 9 year old Boston Terrier has two black growths that appear to be growing. One is on his paw the other is on his underside. We are wondering if you'd be able to explain what they may be.

Hi there, this is Dr. Gabby. I know you probably want to know exactly what they are but that would take a fine needle aspirate or a biopsy to determine what type of cells they are. How quickly are they growing?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It's been over the course of a year since we noticed them, they started out very small almost like little warts. They don't seem to bother him, but they are much bigger than a few months ago. Now they look like this...

Thank you,

That is getting pretty large. I think it needs to be surgically removed and sent off for a biopsy.

The best thing that will happen is the vet will say it came back benign.

Usually cancerous masses grow rapidly like 2-3 times in size in a month.

And sometimes benign masses can turn cancerous.
