Hello Julie,

You might be able to do quite well using a good prescription non-steroidal anti-inflammatory combined with some pain medication!

Personally, I am a huge fan of the prescription anti-inflammatory medications Rimadyl or Metacam. For pain medications, a vet can prescribe Tramadol and/or Gabapentin.

I really think combining Rimadyl with Tramadol or Gabapentin is worth a try!

You could also start a joint support supplement like Dasuquin, but keep in mind that a quality joint support product can take up to 2 months before there is any visible benefit.

Hope that information help!
