Customer Question

4 1/2 month old puppy hasn't eaten, noticed last night when I got home from work- also drooling. He is drinking water and walking around but sits at odd places and stays there. Been watching him all morning- barely a little tail wag when I called him. Do I need to take him to a vet visit or is this a pet emergency situation?

Hello I am Dr RB and I am a small animal veterinarian. My opinion is that your little guy needs to be seen by your regular DVM right away. She/he can do some diagnostic testing (including fecal smear/float, blood testing and Parvo testing) to determine why he isn't feeling well, and most importantly, give him the necessary treatment (such as fluids) that he need before it becomes more serious. You should be able to handle this with your regular DVM for now during normal business hours and I am sure they could accomadate you with a "drop off" appointment or a walk in appointment if you explain the situation. I hope this helps you;)
