Aloha! You're speaking with Dr. Michael Salkin
Lymphangectasia is most often found as the etiology of a protein-losing enteropathy and concurrent inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is common in Yorkies. Unfortunately, no, there's no cure. We treat with ultra-low fat, easily digestible diets, hydrolyzed protein or novel antigen diets in patients with concomitant IBD, elemental enteral feeding products such as Vivonex T.E.N., cobalamin (vitamin B12) supplementation, folate supplementation, and vitamin and mineral supplementation.
