Additional info : He ate this last night. We also found him with a small dead bug in the parlor. I am assume it died from pest control spray as our home is treated professionally.Today Louis is acting tired. He is still eating and drinking but just not his normal peppy self. His ears normally stand straight up and he can't hear a noise without checking it out or being a nosey boy. Today he just somewhat pays attention but could care less for the most part.

Hello and welcome,
Can you tell me if Louis is showing any appetite decline?
Any gagging, retching, vomiting, or lip licking?
Any diarrhea?
What color are his gums?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
No gagging or any other symptoms you mentioned. His gums look normal. He has been drinking but not eating much today. Normally when anyone in the family eats he perks up trying to see if anyone will share and he is not interested today. Seems just to be feeling a little under the weather. Read horror stories online about dogs eating onion so wanted to see if it's something he needs medical attention for.

Thank you,
You are correct that onions can be dangerous in dogs. Though the dose he has had is very small for even his size. Therefore I'd not be worried about severe signs but do suspect he does have GI upset from this ( or possibly the bug).
Therefore, if his appetite is poor even without vomiting, I would advise some supportive care here. To start, we can consider starting him on an antacid. Since he is small, we'd be best to use Pepcid. A 4lb dog can have 2mg every 12 hours to settle his stomach. After that is on board, you can feed small meals of a light diet like rice with boiled chicken or cottage cheese. And with such a small dose we'd expect him to settle within 24 hours. If he didn't, then a check with his vet stage could be considered.
Overall this is a very small dose, so I would not expect severe signs here. So I would treat for stomach upset and monitory your lad at this stage.
All the best,
