Customer Question

My 14 yr old minature poodle has been panting a lot lately. This morning he was fine and now all of sudden he can't walk well. He's stumbling. He front paws are locking up and he's falling over on his side. It almost seems like he can't feel his legs.

I'm sorry that your question wasn't answered in a timely manner. Please let me know if you still need help. Cobie's apparent paresis (weakness) or paralysis affecting his front legs suggests both encephalopathy (brain disorder) or cervical (neck) myelopathy (spinal cord disorder). Panting is nonspecific but is consistent with pain as well as encephalopathies - brain tumor, immune-mediated (steroid-responsive), or infectious (rare). Cobie needs to be seen by his vet at your earliest convenience. I hope that has already occurred.

Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
