Customer Question

My mother in law just advised that our 13 year old English Cocker Spaniel ate 4-5 of her calcium supplements. Probably happened about 6-7 hours ago. Rosie weighs approximately 25 pounds

Also advised that she may have eaten a stool softener. Calcium is 400mg

Hi, I'm a licensed veterinarian and I'll be happy to help.A one-time ingestion of several calcium supplements, and the stool softener, would not likely result in any serious problems. However, I would expect diarrhea, for up to 24 hours, and possibly some vomiting too.If any of those signs last longer than 24 hours, I would recommend veterinary attention.
