Customer Question

My 9 mo old puppy just ate pseudophedrine. We think it was 1-2 tablets. Should we do anything to include vomiting?

Good Morning and welcome! I am Dr. Loretta, a licensed veterinarian and I am happy to answer your question.

Yes, if this has been within 2 hrs of ingestion, induce vomiting by following these instructions:

Give Roxy 1 teaspoons of peroxide per 5 pounds of weight and wait 15 minutes. If no vomiting, then try it again. You can do this 3 times safely.

You may not see the pills since they may have already dissolved but this is the safest way to ensure that Roxy will be safe. Side effects of this can include, vomiting, increased heart rate and tremors as well as seizures. It is safest for Roxy to remove this from her system.

Does that make sense to you?
